IMPORTANT INFORMATION

In order to engage the students into taking part in such a project, it´d be highly advisable to have them watch the films first (at school or at home). Moreover, the presence of a variety of supporting characters will give more students a chance to play a role.

  1. I think this play is veray appealing ,as a lot of the students have seen the three films and almost all of them have heard of them.Watching the films is a good starting point because they enjoy films a lot and this way it is easier to make them get involved. The play is really motivating because it talks about fighting for your dreams and shows us how important it is to work together,to help others and to be helped by them.I think this play is very suitable to perform with our students and it also has many roles, which is a very important aspect so that most of the pupils can take part in it.

  3. Amparo,

I think I am in love with this outline.

In my experience, you need to be confident that students will react to open-wide tasks. And I am using "open-wide" in terms of great possibilities for students to make the characters their own.
I think your script has all the potential of students' previous knowledge and interests, and all the risks that shy students seem to find when they need to perform into a role they feel as complex. Again, out of experience, facing risks is one of the biggest gifts of our work. More often than not, you discover that shameless performer where you thought there was an incredibly shy kid.

I like the fact that I see "The Wizard of Oz" all over your story and, at the same time, updated characters with real life issues that they wish to face.

With your permission, I would love to use your ideas with a couple of my classes.

    Thanks!

  4. I found the story really entertaining and different and I think students will love it. The idea of choosing characters from well known films is great because students will immediately recognize them and feel identified with them. The only problem I found is the difficulty of preparing so many different stage sets, since the play takes place in different places. But this problem can be overcome with some preparation. Well done!
